Rooted in Red

This painting was inspired by a special journey to the red rock landscapes of Sedona shared with a very special friend. The desert there carries a presence that is difficult to describe—ancient, powerful, and quietly spiritual.

The twisting juniper in the foreground reflects the resilience of trees that grow among Sedona’s rugged sandstone formations. In this harsh terrain, roots press through narrow cracks in the rock in search of moisture, while trunks bend and spiral toward the sky, shaped by wind, stone, and time.

Many visitors speak of Sedona’s subtle energy vortexes—places where the landscape seems to hold a deeper presence.

Standing among the red rocks and quiet valleys, we paused.

And in that quiet, we felt it.
