Quiet Curiosity

This woolly sheep is eager—yet cautious—as it investigates its surroundings. Painted in warm acrylics, the scene captures the gentle, inquisitive nature of these sweet creatures.

According to Statistics Canada (2011), sheep farming is spread across nearly 500 farms on Vancouver Island and the southern Gulf Islands. Thanks to the region’s mild coastal climate, sheep can remain outdoors for most of the year—roaming, grazing, and quietly observing the world around them.
